Understanding Routes and Waypoints #
MAPTATTOO allows you to store Routes that are composed of multiple waypoints.
MAPTATTOO also allows you to store standalone waypoints (Waypoints that are not included in a pre-defined Route.
We typically recommend using standalone waypoints for your local points of interest and routes when planning trips.
Accessing the Route Widget #
- On your MAPTATTOO, the Route widget is available on Page #2
- (1) Change Page to page #2, you should see the Route Widget appear below the Speed and Heading Widgets (** New in firmware V244.0.0 **)
- The top of the widget shows the selected Route and the selected waypoint (*Selected Route* > *Selected Waypoint*)
- The Route widget shows: Distance to Next Waypoint, Velocity Made on Cource (VMC), Bearing to Next Waypoint and Course Deviation.
- ** New in Firmware V244.0.0 ** MAPTATTOO now switches automatically to the next waypoint when you complete a leg on your Route.
Selecting Routes and Waypoints #
- When in the Route Menu, use the +/- to change route
- use the “up” and “down” arrow to change waypoint
- *Note*: at this moment, MAPTATTOO does not automatically switch waypoints when using the Routing function, you have to do it manually.
